How Argos made cement handling easier and more efficient

When it comes to storing and transporting cement, you can do it the hard way, or you can find an easier, safer, more efficient way to do it.

That’s what Argos – one of the largest cement and ready-mix cement companies in the world – chose to do when they invested in a fleet of Moffett forklifts for their Columbian operation.

And they’re convinced they chose well. Cement is always a tricky construction material to handle. Sacks are subject to slippage and breakage and must be stored to protect them from the elements. Loads are heavy, risk of accidents is high and, in Columbia the terrain is particularly challenging.

Argos got exactly what they needed and maximized their value by investing in 17 Moffett M5 25.3 forklifts plus a smaller Moffett M4 25.3 for use on a smaller city delivery truck. They handle up to two and a half tonnes, have excellent maneuverability and stability over all kinds of rough terrain so loads remain safely in place, so they have peace of mind with their inventory control.

Their Moffett forklifts eliminated the need for manual handling and have state-of-the-art safety features to reduce workplace accidents. And they have a free-lift mast that lets them precisely place palletized product in low height containers for safety, security and protection from the environment.

And like all Moffett forklifts, Argos’ fleet mounts and dismounts from their trucks in less than a minute with only one operator, making city deliveries to simple.
