COMPATRIOTS IN CAPE TOWN ARE TALKING NX2

SHAMROCK MOFFETT M8 NX2 FORKLIFT TRUCK

There are well over 100,000 Moffett truck-mounted forklifts worldwide. They reached that goal two years ago, with the landmark machine sold in Canada. We’ve been selling Moffett forklifts in Canada for nearly 40 years and have sold so many that we kind of think of them as our own.

The fact is, they are built in Ireland and sold in more than 40 countries by dealers who care about them as much as we do, and sometimes, we like to let them know we can see that. Our compatriot in Cape Town, South Africa, is one of those.

Shamrock Handling Concepts is known for its Moffett forklifts. Like us, they’re excited about the new M8 NX2 models and have a lot to say about them. We get that. Moffett NX2 models are groundbreaking, with features not seen before in a truck-mounted forklift.

In a recent issue of Cape Business News, Shamrock talks about the advantages of a truck-mounted forklift: versatility, delivery efficiency and the ability of a single operator to quickly and safely deliver goods. Those qualities apply to all Moffett forklifts, of course, but the article mostly focuses on the Moffett M8 55.3 NX2 and M8 55.3PL NX2.

The article highlights the M8 NX2’s many new features. The redesigned fork carriage that improves safety and visibility. The rear spindle that provides 180-degree steering. A robust work light system and two focused strobe lights. An advanced. 3.5” colour display. A redesigned radiator side panel that keeps the engine cooler for longer life.

Mostly, Shamrock talks about the feature everyone is talking about. They call it Sidemount Plus. We call it GroundMount Plus. But ‘potato, potahto,’ whatever you call it, it’s a hot topic. Operators probably get on and off their forklifts 2,500 times or more each year. That’s a lot of time, energy and wear and tear on the body. With M8 NX2 models, you never have to do that again. Quite simply, it lets the operator mount and dismount on or off the truck from curbside without ever getting on the forklift. Lift, retract and lower with three buttons on the side of the machine.

We may sound like a broken record, but the degree of ease and safety these new models offer can’t be talked about enough. And the fact that other successful Moffett dealers are talking about them too puts us in good company.
