HELLO, HIABS & ELECTRIC TRUCKS FOR WASTE & RECYCLING

Electric and hybrid trucks are fast taking hold in Europe, and manufacturers are partnering with HIAB to mount HIAB truck-mounted cranes and Multilift truck-mounted hooklifts. The Dutch are doing it in a big way with eco-work-ready crane and hooklift truck packages aimed at the waste and recycling industry and couldn’t be more in demand there.

There are many businesses in the Netherlands already using electric HIAB cranes, and the waste and recycling sector is primed to be next. Amsterdam and other Dutch cities are set to become zero-emission zones in 2025, so it was no surprise to see some top truck brands show off their future-forward load-handling solutions at ReiningsDemoDagen in June. DAF, Volvo, Renault, Scania and Mercedes were front and centre.

• Multilift ULTIMA 21S 59 FLEX hooklift on a Mercedes eActro 300 L 6×2 electric truck

HIAB crane and Multilift hooklift truck packages with electric and hybrid trucks help fill the gap and growing demand – and growing regulations – for zero emissions and silent operation.
