LOGLIFT forestry cranes

A new generation of forestry crane operators is pushing for new and better ways to work. They want next-generation equipment that’s easier to operate and service, more comfortable, and safer. They want high-tech solutions that can further improve productivity and uptime.

HIAB has responded with the launch of a new line of LOGLIFT forestry cranes with a lot of ‘firsts’ to meet their needs.

To begin with, they are the first cranes of their kind with digital solutions to increase productivity and uptime. New high-tech features include customization of HIAB’s proven, state-of-the-art SPACE X4 operating system specifically for forestry cranes. That means more feedback, more output and safety features like overload protection and automatic stabilizers.

The new next-generation HIAB LOGLIFT forestry cranes, like the LOGLIFT 18Z, also have optional built-in connectivity with HiConnect™ to further enhance performance and safety with real-time insights into the crane’s use, operation and condition.

Add to all that technology a new geometry that creates a powerful crane with increased reach (their first model reaches 10.4 metres (34.12 ft) and a lifting capacity of 187 tonnes. The modular design also reduces unexpected downtime, as hoses and cables are protected inside the boom system, and larger hydraulic pipes ensure better flow in warm temperatures. It also means speedier installation, an improved high seat and field of vision, sturdier ladder access, and better lighting and ergonomics.

Of course, reliability is everything. The next-generation HIAB LOGLIFT forestry cranes have been tested over and over in extreme heat, cold, snow, ice and heavy rainfall in Germany, Finland and Sweden – conditions that mirror the toughest our Canadian forestry crane operators will face.

It’s a new world out there, and a new generation is taking over. Modern crane operators are tech-savvy and understand the benefits of modern design and technology. They expect their equipment suppliers to be not just there with them but always a step ahead – as they should be. It’s just one reason why HIAB is the leading truck-mounted crane in the world and always #1 in Canada.
