HOLD YOUR HORSES! IS THAT A HIAB
When your logo is a polar bear, odds are you have an affinity for animals. So we were pretty tickled to see this article in the Shropshire Star showing firefighters using a HIAB crane to rescue a horse in Shifnal.
The horse had collapsed near Bonemill Lane, and an Amber Watch was sent out to rescue teams for help. The fire service arrived with their HIAB crane truck, and with the aid of Wholetime colleagues from Wellington and Telford Central, used a harness to help the animal to its feet and into the care of a local veterinarian.
HIAB articulating cranes are often found on fire trucks and rescue vehicles to help with heavy lifting and load handling in emergency situations. They enable rescue crews to move equipment and heavy objects like spreaders, rams, and other tools, access challenging sites, and rescue victims—even horses.
