87 YEARS YOUNG AND GOING STRONG
More than 87 years ago, in 1938, Atlas Polar committed to focusing on what our customers need to get the job done. From simple beginnings, where we pioneered equipment developed to improve productivity and safety for Canadian farmers, we continued to grow and expand. We looked for ways to improve Canadian businesses and industries beyond agriculture.
A tipping point came in 1953 when we partnered with HIAB, the world’s leading truck-mounted equipment brand, as their Canadian distributor and introduced Canada to the first articulating truck-mounted crane. Along the way, we continued adding “firsts” that made it easier, safer, faster and more profitable for our customers, regardless of the industry, conditions or job challenges.
In 1974, we introduced Polar Remote Controls. In 1978, Atlas Polar designed and manufactured Hydrorake® systems to deal with trash debris in hydroelectric dams and other waterways. In 1988, we became the distributor for innovative Multilift® truck-mounted hooklifts, followed in 1989 by Moffett, introducing the first all-wheel drive truck-mounted forklift to Canada. 1992 saw the introduction of Mixveyor™, the first truck-mounted concrete conveyor; in 1993, it was the fish-friendly Hydrobrush. Then it was Loglift™ management systems for forestry, HiVOLT ALERT™ systems to warn crane operators of high voltage, Cleasby roofing systems, Polar Racks, Cover N Go™ retractable seat covers for Moffett forklift operators, and Effer Cranes. And, of course, HIAB, Moffett, and Multilift R&D and industry-leading technology and innovations keep coming.
As Canadian businesses have changed, we’ve listened to our customers, heard what they had to say, and worked closely with them to provide truck-mounted equipment solutions, including work-ready truck packages.
Today, Atlas Polar brands power our customers in almost every industry, including lumber and building supply, construction, transportation, rail, landscaping, nursery, horticulture, agriculture, food and beverage, military, mining, hydropower, water management, government, oil and gas, forestry, precast concrete, roofing, monuments, home improvement retailing, waste management, municipal needs and rescue. We help them lift more, move more and do more.
Our customers have powered us. At 87 years young, we are one of Canada’s oldest companies and thanks to you, our legacy continues.
